Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO) participated in the Pre-Budget Climate Conference organized by Sindh Climate Action Network in collaboration with SPO, NCA, and Islamic Relief Pakistan.
Distinguished scholar, environmentalist, and Chairperson of the Board of Directors – SPO, former Senator, Mr. Javed Jabbar, highlighted the significance of conservation at the conference. In his compelling address, Mr. Javed Jabbar emphasized the critical role of conservation in mitigating the impacts of climate change. He acknowledged that climate change extends beyond seasonal pattern shifts and encompasses disasters. He urged attendees to prioritize the preservation of the planet’s invaluable natural resources.
During his thought-provoking speech, Mr. Jabbar stressed the need for individual and collective responsibility in shaping human behavior towards the environment. He highlighted the delicate balance of nature and urged society to respect and cherish diverse species and ecosystems. By doing so, he asserted that humanity can effectively combat climate change and protect the planet for future generations.

He advocated for the inclusion of a “green budget” alongside traditional financial budgets, emphasizing the allocation of resources to preserve and restore natural habitats. By incorporating sustainability into economic frameworks, he argued that societies can leverage financial systems to drive positive environmental change.
