A provincial level network was formed in April 2017 after orientation meetings with the departments of Women Development, Social Welfare, Human Rights, Home, Health and Planning and Development (P&D) to play their role in implementation of targeted laws. This network was named ‘Provincial Steering Forum’ to facilitate and coordinate for establishment of pro women structures under the provincial laws. Consultation Meeting was held in Nathia Gali in May 2017 to set milestones and discuss way forward.
First Proposed Plan of Action: PSF members will advocate and seek for the pro women structures such as:
Provincial and District Level Commissions/Committees and appointment of Protection officers under the law of Domestic Violence (Prevention and Protection) Act 2013;
Establishment of Provincial and District Level Monitoring Committees under law of the Sindh Child Marriages Restraint Act 2013;
Establishment of The Sindh Commission on the Status of Women (SCSW) under the of law of Sindh Commission on the Status of Women Act 2015.
Second Proposed Action Plan: Consultations with government for Increasing resource allocations in relevant government departments of WDD and Social Welfare Departments from 10% budget to 20% in monetary year 2017-18.
