Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO) in collaboration with Oxfam in Pakistan and the College of Earth and Environmental Sciences (CEES), University of the Punjab, Lahore formed the Punjab Climate Action Network (PCAN). The formation event was focused on improved climate resilience among local communities and youth through strengthening of joint efforts for climate change adaptation and mitigation.
The guest participants included government officials, educationists, and members of national and international Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). They highlighted their role and need for joint initiatives for climate change adaptation and mitigation for improved climate resilience among the masses. The event witnessed a significant milestone with the distinguished appointment of Dr. Abdul Qadeer as President and Ms. Dur e Shahwar as General Secretary of PCAN. The esteemed leadership is aimed at bringing a wealth of expertise and unwavering commitment to advancing the network’s mission of sustainable development for climate action.
