Briefing on Water and Sanitation for Members of Provincial Assembly Punjab
Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO) with the technical support of WaterAid Pakistan organized one day event “Briefing on Water and Sanitation for Members of Provincial Assembly Punjab” on 24th October 2018, at Avari Hotel, Lahore. Public representatives from Multan, Vehari, Khushab, Kasur, Lahore and Muzaffargarh participated in briefing session. Engaging legislators to accelerate legislation process, approval of drafted Water and Sanitation Policy, Punjab and significant increase and prioritization of financial resources for improvement of water and sanitation are the priority areas of the project. The purpose of the event was to sensitize members of newly elected parliament to further WASH Rights agenda in parliament for critically required legislation and approval of drafted policy from provincial cabinet. The speakers from academia, government departments, print and electronic media shared detailed presentation with the support of data on Water and Sanitation situation of the Punjab.
