River Chenab is flowing in High Flood at PanjnadHeadworks with falling trend. The inflow/outflow is 390,000 Cusecs, whereas River Indus is at Low Flood Stage at Guddu Barrage with rising trend. Other main Rivers i.e. Jhelum, Ravi & Sutlej are flowing Normal.
As water level at Guddu Barrage is rising and resultantly dozens of hamlets, villages and settlements in Kuchha area have submerged under water. Evacuation operation in Sindh is also started and so far population from 97 villages of 11 UCs have evacuated. The evacuated families are living in relief camps set up by civil administration of Sukkur Division.
Water is receding in southern districts of Pakistan but damage assessment has not been done so far by any of the humanitarian agency, public agency or disaster management authority.
Fortunately, no death has been recorded or reported in last 24 hours but the number of cattle perished in the catastrophe is touching the mark of 8003 across all the affected regions of the country. Standing crops (rice, mango, cotton, sugarcane and vegetables) wiped out or badly damaged on 2.32 million acres in 26 districts of Punjab.
