Social justice is a result of complex interplay of several political, institutional, cultural ethos, and socio-economic factors. Therefore, it is imperative to remove the hindrances that create problems in the achievement of social justice and subject people to social injustice. True to its mission of establishing a socially just system and society, SPO has initiated a Social Justice Programme. Under the ‘Social Justice’ component, SPO aims to strengthen community-centered mechanisms regardless of anyone’s cast, color, gender, and race so that marginalized populations can work to improve their quality of life. Special consideration is given to women, minorities, and youth. In order to achieve equal status and quality living conditions for these marginalized sections of society, SPO mobilized, established, and capacitated 150 Women Groups, 16 District-level and 160 Union Council- level Health and Education Monitoring Committees. These citizens’ bodies create opportunities for the most vulnerable populations to commit to and work for the realization of their basic human rights.
