Peace and Cultural event organised by SPO at Sukkur
A peace and cultural event was organized on 13th Oct 2015 at Sukkur Press Club by SPO, under ‘Citizen First’ project funded by Oxfam Novib. A large number of political personalities along with senior district officials from Sukkur, Khairpur, Larkana & Shikarpur attended the event. The speakers encouraged the efforts of SPO in promoting the cultural traditions of Sindh. The speakers also emphasized on using culture as a toll for promoting peace, harmony and development in the society. The purpose of peace & Cultural festival was: To provide joint platform to people across religious, sectarian, cultural and ethnic groups for social and cultural interaction. To provide opportunity to people across different identities; religious, sectarian, cultural or ethnic including men, women, persons with disabilities and transgender for joint celbrations through common cultural practices such music, theatre productions, poetry, child performances, traditional story telling etc. To promote common values among people across different identities including men, women, youth persons with disabilities and transgender through positive cultural practices and inheritance.

Community Youth Convention
An event conducted by SPO In recognition of committed participation of youth in learning activities and their contribution to help communities under the PPAF Sindh Coastal Area Development Integrated Program for Sustainable livelihood and income generation at Sindh Agriculture University , Tando Jam. The event attracted 450 trained young cadre, boys and girls from disaster-prone districts of Sujawal and Thatta to show their will to look for marketing of their skills and adopt the innovative technology to cope with global challenges in real actual situation. The Vice Chancellor, Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) , Dr Mujeebuddin Memon appreciated the skilled youth belonging to coastal districts of Thatta and Sujawal to look for its marketing at local, national and international level. He also distributed certificates to local social leaders in recognition for their work and dedication. Prof Ismail Kumbhar from SAU spoke that agrarian youth are the main assets and their capabilities can be utilized for the betterment of the community. He linked the skill enhancement program for youth of coastal areas to recover the losses of sea intrusion, which has reportedly taken more than three million acres of fertile lands and caused displacement. AAWAZ program meeting in D. I. Khan
During the Holy month of Moharam, D I Khan has been marked as the most sensitive District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. In this connection, AAWAZ Program D I Khan organized an event on 18 October 2015 at District Assembly Hall. The event was attended by renowned sectarian leaders, District Police Officer and representatives of Civil Society. Allama Tauqeer Nasir, Qari Khalil and members of presidents of ADF and ATF gave message of tolerance and humbleness. Mr. Sadiq Baloch District Police Officer D I Khan mentioned that D I Khan is a junction, therefore it is more sensitive. District Administration chalked out security plan and intended that they will try level best to keep security arrangement people’s friendly. October 29, 2015 A 7.5-magnitude catastrophic earthquake devastated northern parts of the country as harsh weather and rugged terrain hampered rescue efforts. Officials confirmed 272 deaths but feared that the toll could go up as many areas remain inaccessible. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) says at least 25,364 houses were damaged in the affected areas with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province being the worst-hit.
