One Day Orientation Session with Police Officials on Friendly role of Police Officials and protection of Human Rights of Citizens especially vulnerable sections of Society.
SPO, the Pakistan Forum for Democratic Policing (PFDP) and the Government of Punjab’s Human Rights and Minority Affairs Department organized an orientation session with police officials in Faisalabad at Police Club Police Line Faisalabad.
A total of 30 Police officials, currently deployed in field, were oriented on the implementation of the Human Rights Policy and its action plan.
Police officers were also familiarized with the UN’s Universal Declaration on Human Rights and briefed on their roles and responsibilities to protect the human rights of citizens especially vulnerable sections of the society like women, children, minorities, transgender and persons with disabilities.
Mr. Muhammad Yousaf (Deputy Secretary of the Government of Punjab’s Human Rights and Minority Affairs Department), Mr. Shah Nawaz Khan (Regional Coordinator SPO), Ms. Irum Fatima (Provincial Coordinator of Bedari), and Mr. Aziz Khan (Advocate, Retd DSP) moderated different sessions.
SPO and the Government of Punjab’s Human Rights and Minority Affairs Department are jointly working on the implementation of the Human Rights Policy and to create an awareness about the importance of promoting and preserving social and cultural heritage amongst communities.
