SPO, in collaboration with the Provincial TB Program Balochistan and Mercy Corps Pakistan, conducted a community-based chest camp.
In connection with “World TB Day 2026”, Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO), in collaboration with the Provincial TB Program Balochistan and Mercy Corps Pakistan, conducted a community-based chest camp on 30 March 2026 at Abdul Rahman Hara Muhallah, District Sibi, to support early detection of tuberculosis (TB) and improve access to diagnostic services.
During the activity, a total of 89 individuals were screened through OPD services, with 67 chest X-rays conducted. Four samples were collected for further testing, with results currently pending. The screening resulted in the identification of one clinically diagnosed TB case, while no bacteriologically confirmed or extrapulmonary TB cases were reported. Additionally, one individual was tested for HIV.
Due to the unavailability of laboratory staff, GeneXpert testing could not be conducted at the site; however, collected samples are being processed subsequently. The activity contributed to ongoing efforts to enhance community awareness and facilitate early identification of TB cases in underserved areas.
