Sindh Gender Parity Report Launch

The Sindh Gender Parity Report (SGPR) 2023–2024, the first-ever comprehensive report of its kind in Sindh, was officially launched on 16 September 2026 in Karachi by the Human Rights Department Government of Sindh, with technical support from United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and SPO.

The report provides an evidence-based assessment of gender disparities across key areas, bringing together 143 gender-disaggregated indicators from approximately 45 government departments, agencies and bodies. It examines gender parity across six key thematic areas: Demographics, Governance, Health, Education, Justice, and Economic Participation & Opportunities.

The SGPR is an important step towards strengthening gender-responsive policymaking, institutional accountability, and evidence-based planning in Sindh. By bringing together data from across government institutions, the report provides a stronger evidence base to identify persistent gender gaps, track progress, and inform policies and interventions aimed at advancing equality and opportunities for women and girls.

The launch brought together representatives from the Government of Sindh, UNFPA, SPO, Sindh Commission on the Status of Women, development partners, experts, and other stakeholders committed to advancing gender equality and human rights in the province.

A significant milestone for Sindh and an important foundation for turning gender data into policy action.
