SPO is successfully implementing the “OGDC Model Village” project in partnership with Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL). The project started on September 1, 2025, and will conclude on August 31, 2026. The project is being implemented in Uch, District Sohbatpur, Balochistan, with a total financial support of PKR 199.84 Million.

The objective of the project is to provide relief and improve living conditions for vulnerable and underprivileged communities through the establishment of a model village. Under this initiative, SPO is constructing 100 permanent, disaster-resilient homes along with essential community facilities, including separate community halls for men and women, a Masjid, and a Children’s Park. The project also focuses on improving basic infrastructure through the provision of solar-powered electricity, boring water facilities, Nadi filters for water treatment, horticulture, and pathways to strengthen the socioeconomic conditions of the local population.

SPO is supporting the project implementation through comprehensive needs assessments, community mobilization for construction activities, and the formation of inclusive Village Organizations (VOs) to promote community ownership and sustainability. SPO is also responsible for vendor procurement, monitoring implementation progress, and ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and legal requirements. Through these efforts, SPO is promoting inclusive development by enabling marginalized groups, including women and persons with disabilities, to actively participate in and benefit from the development process.
