Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO) is pleased to announce the signing of a Letter of Agreement (LoA) with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) for the implementation of livestock and community resilience interventions in Balochistan.
The agreement was formally signed on 21 May 2026 by Ms. Arifa Mazhar, Chief Executive, Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO), and Mr. James Okoth, Officer-in-Charge, FAO, during an official ceremony held in Quetta. Speaking at the event, Ms. Arifa Mazhar reaffirmed SPO’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities through sustainable livelihood opportunities, capacity building, and community-driven development initiatives.
Representing SPO at the ceremony were Ms. Arifa Mazhar, Chief Executive; Mr. Mir Ahmed Sami, Regional Manager Quetta Region; and Mr. Samee Jamaldini, Provincial Coordinator Balochistan.
This partnership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening livestock-based livelihoods, enhancing community resilience, and promoting sustainable development for rural communities across Balochistan. SPO looks forward to working closely with FAO, government departments, and local stakeholders to achieve meaningful and lasting impact.
