Third session of women assembly was conducted at District Assembly Hall of district Lakki Marwat. The agenda of the meeting was the discussions on charter of demands which was not discussed in previous session and present it to DC Lakki Marwat.
Speaker of the assembly, Miss Samina started the session with the recitation of Holly Quran by Mufti Muhammad Khan Haqqani. Miss Mareena Khan, Deputy Speaker was called after recitation of Holy Quran to share the review points of the previous session. Later, Miss Amna was given time to share the Charter of Demands with the house for further actions on these demands and she briefly explained Charter of Demands to the participants. Mr. Muhammad Bakhtiar Khan, DC Lakki Marwat was the Chief Guest of the session and he noted all the points presented. At the end speaker of the house gave special time to chief guest to share his views regarding the charter of demands. Mr. Bakhtiar Khan paid thanks to speaker and members of the house for conducting and arranging this session especially for women of this area. He further added that in 1965 Martin Luther King started a revolution for the black people and today they are ruling the America. He quoted, “As Lakki Marwat society is a male dominated society where females are not allowed to participate in such type of social gatherings and raise their voice for their rights. I think today women participation in this this session is a first step towards change, success and development of the district Lakki Marwat”. He addressed all the points of charter of demands and declared that women have not 10 % reserved funds only but they have 110% chance in the development funds. He ensured that he will provide 100% chance to women in the competition as well as 10% chance would be provided to women separately in reserved fund. He ensured that women would be provided facilities at the bus stands and for this purpose he has introduced new bus stands in the ADP of this year. He shared that he will arrange meeting with Mr.Riaz Khan, District Finance Officer for team of women assembly under supervision of Anam, Program officer to review the reserve 10 % fund allocation for women of the district in the next week.
Honorable chief guest notified that sexual harassment committee lists would be displaced in each department as soon as possible. Separate complaints box would be arranged for women in the district and he requested members of the house to join “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa porter cell” for online complaint through their cell phones. He also shared that it’s the duty of Women Assembly to work for development of women in the area. He requested the participants to join him for the cause of “Access to education for every girl” in the area. After the concluding speech of honorable speaker the house closed till the next session.
