02 One-day training were organized for capacity building of 25 members of benches of treasure and oppositions, in Sindh Assembly, on 13th and 14th of March 2018 respectively, at Movenpick Hotel Karachi.
The training sessions were based on the key findings and recommendations of research based study titled “Contemplating Men Legislators’ Attitude towards the Empowerment of Women Legislators”. to sensitize the men and women parliamentarians to challenge their perceptions, attitudes and understanding on empowerment of women legislators. Mr. Jami Chandio facilitated the trainings. First day of training focused on PPPP as members from treasure bench and second day for parties in opposition like PML-(N), PML-(F), MQM and PSP. A total number of 25 MPAs participated in two workshops.
Sessions covered the topics of gender justice framework, Gender discrimination, Gender Based Stereotypes, Behavioural harassment and its forms, Women Empowerment and its pre requisites and concluded in certificate distribution ceremony. The sessions were delivered in interactive way and participants attended actively in the training. Participants shared their observations, knowledge and experiences on the gender role perceived in the society.
