SPO’s Programme Officers attend training on ‘Democratic Governance, Social Justice and Civil Society’
Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO) recently organized a three-day training workshop on “Democratic Governance, Social Justice / Gender Justice and role of Civil Society” from September 8-10 in Karachi. The training session was conducted by Mr. Javed Ahmed (Jami) Chandio and included 12 officer level staff from the Programme Implementation department in Turbat, Quetta, Hyderabad and Karachi. Mr. Naseer Memon also contributed to the training and shared his views regarding the topics of discussion, which included Democracy, its evolution and principles; Federalism and Governance in Pakistan; Constitutional rights and Social Justice Issues in Pakistan; Gender Framework and Gender Justice related issues; and the role of Civil Society and Local Bodies in promoting citizens rights.
A similar training is also being conducted in Lahore from September 17-19 which will be attended by 37 Programme Officers from Multan, Lahore, D.I.Khan and Peshawar.
