UN Mission to SPO office – Turbat Balochistan
UN Resident Coordinator, Mr. Julien Harneis, visited the SPO Regional Office in Turbat on August 24, 2022. A detailed orientation on the overall GRASP project interventions and progress was shared by the SPO Regional Team, namely the Regional Manager Mr. Mehrab Ali and Project Officer Ms. Sohaila Rasheed.
While visiting Kech and Panjgur districts, he also met 15 women and 16 men SMEs in person with keen interest during the session on business feasibility, best agriculture practices, and losses in businesses due to recent monsoon rains. The efforts of SMEs and displayed value chain products on stalls were significantly appreciated and valued.
His overall views on the initiative were encouraging and positive. He admired the teamwork of the International Trade Centre (ITC), Food & Agriculture Organization( FAO), Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), and Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO) and showed his trust and confidence in the successful results of the GRASP project that will undoubtedly contribute in bringing a huge difference in the lives of struggling entrepreneurs. He promised to extend his continued support to make it a success.
